Fabric is my bridge from the ceramic side of the studio to surface design—and our newest material offering. As with clay and glaze, we approach fabric through material behavior, not trend. Each substrate is selected for how it carries pattern, responds to light, performs over time, and supports the lived environment of a home.
This guide is intended to help trade partners specify fabrics with confidence—matching material to room, function, and expected wear.
Silk Twill
Structured silk for refined, architectural interiors
Specifications
- Weight: 120 g/m² (14 momme)
- Printable Width: 52” / 132 cm
- Content: 100% silk

- Print Through: Medium (approx. 40–50%)
Material Characteristics
Silk twill’s diagonal weave gives it strength and dimensional stability uncommon in lighter silks. Its moderate sheen reflects light softly, allowing color and pattern to read clearly without glare. The surface feels refined yet controlled—ideal for applications where elegance and structure must coexist.

Silk Charmeuse
Fluid silk for softness, mood, and light play

Material Characteristics
Silk charmeuse is defined by its luminous face and matte reverse. It has a liquid drape that allows pattern to shift and deepen with movement and light. This is a fabric chosen for atmosphere rather than durability—best where touch is gentle and use is intentional.

High-durability natural fiber for everyday interiors

Material Characteristics
Cotton linen canvas offers a smooth, even surface with moderate structure and exceptional durability for a natural fiber. It carries pattern cleanly without excessive sheen and develops a softened, lived-in quality over time. This fabric balances practicality with visual clarity and is well suited for upholstery when specified appropriately.

Upholstery Guidance
Cotton linen canvas is appropriate for side chairs, dining chairs, benches, and occasional seating. It may be used on sofas in lower-traffic or formal living spaces, with the understanding that it is a natural fiber and will soften and patinate over time. For high-use family seating or homes with pets and heavy daily wear, velveteen or vegan leather is recommended.

- Subsequent washes: cold water, phosphate-free detergent
- Machine dry on high heat
- Iron on cotton setting or medium–high heat

Heavy Satin
Polished satin for light-reactive interiors

Material Characteristics
Heavy satin features a smooth, lustrous face with a matte underside and a tightly woven structure that gives it body and durability. Light reflects cleanly off the surface, intensifying color and pattern while maintaining composure.

Material Characteristics

Trade Specification Guidance
Fabric selection should be based on room function, light exposure, and frequency of use. Natural fibers are recommended where patina and aging are welcomed; synthetic substrates are preferred for high-contact and high-use environments.
