Luxe Traditional Wallpaper Installation
Our Luxe Traditional wallpaper is a premium non-woven substrate designed for paste installation. We recommend using Roman 880 Clear Adhesive for best performance.
Tools You Will Need
- Roman 880 Clear Adhesive
- Paint roller (for paste application)
- Smoothing tool or plastic wallpaper smoother
- Sharp utility knife
- Level or laser level
- Clean sponge and bucket of water
Step 1: Prepare the Wall
Walls must be smooth, clean, dry, and properly primed. Remove dust, grease, and debris. Paint must be fully cured (minimum 2–4 weeks depending on type). Do not install over textured surfaces.
Step 2: Establish a Plumb Line
Use a level or laser to mark a straight vertical line where your first panel will begin. Do not rely on corners or ceiling lines—they are rarely perfectly straight.
Step 3: Apply Adhesive
Using a roller, apply an even coat of Roman 880 directly to the wall, slightly wider than the width of one panel. Do not oversaturate.
Step 4: Hang the First Panel
Align the top edge with the ceiling and the side edge with your plumb line. Allow slight excess at top and bottom for trimming.
Step 5: Smooth & Remove Air
Using a smoothing tool, gently press from the center outward to remove air pockets. Wipe away excess adhesive immediately with a clean, damp sponge.
Step 6: Trim Edges
Trim excess material at ceiling and baseboard using a sharp blade. Change blades frequently for clean cuts.
Step 7: Install Remaining Panels
Install panels edge-to-edge (butt seam). Carefully align pattern repeat before smoothing into place.
Drying Time
Avoid touching seams for 24 hours. Full cure may take several days depending on humidity.
Luxe Peel & Stick Wallpaper Installation
Our Luxe Peel & Stick is a premium 10.2 mil non-woven self-adhesive wallpaper. It installs without paste.
Tools You Will Need
- Level or laser level
- Plastic smoothing tool
- Sharp utility knife
- Step stool
Step 1: Prepare the Wall
Walls must be smooth, clean, dry, and fully cured. Do not install on textured, matte-chalky, or freshly painted surfaces.
Step 2: Create a Plumb Line
Mark a straight vertical line for your first panel. Precision matters more with Peel & Stick because repositioning time is limited.
Step 3: Position the Panel
Peel back 6–12 inches of the backing at the top. Align the panel with your plumb line before fully adhering.
Step 4: Apply Gradually
Slowly pull away backing while smoothing downward with even pressure. Work in sections to prevent air bubbles.
Step 5: Smooth & Remove Air
Use a smoothing tool to press from center outward. If bubbles appear, gently lift and reapply before pressing firmly.
Step 6: Trim Excess
Trim top and bottom edges using a sharp blade.
Step 7: Align Additional Panels
Install panels with butt seams (edge-to-edge). Carefully match the pattern before pressing fully into place.
Important Notes
- Do not stretch wallpaper during installation.
- Maintain room temperature between 60–80°F during install.
- Avoid installing in high humidity.
- Order extra material to account for pattern repeat and trimming.
When to Hire a Professional
For full-room installations, large-scale repeats, high ceilings, or perfect seam alignment, professional installation is recommended—especially for Traditional wallpaper.
